Wujud dan Spesifikasi VGA AMD Radeon HD 7970 Beredar di Internet

Setelah beredar kabar mengenai tanggal peluncuran AMD Radeon HD 7970, beberapa website yang kami temui kini memajang slide presentasi yang menunjukkan bagaimana bentuk dan spesifkasi yang digunakan oleh AMD HD 7970. Berikut beberapa gambar yang berhasil kami kutip dari beberapa website tersebut.
Pada gambar di atas terlihat wujud graphics card AMD Radeon seri HD 7900. Terlihat AMD HD 7900 menggunakan desain dual-slot cooling dengan kipas tipe blower. AMD menggunakan desain baru pada tutup HSF AMD HD 7900 tetap dengan ciri khas kombinasi warna hitam dan merah. Slot pembuangan udara panas kini memiliki ukuran lebih besar dibandingkan generasi sebelumnya, HD 6900, yang hanya berukuran setengah lebar graphics card.
Ya, inilah spesifikasi yang akan digunakan oleh AMD HD 7970. AMD HD 7970 menggunakan chip GPU Tahiti XT dengan proses fabrikasi TSMC 28 nm. Berdasarkan gambar di atas, AMD HD 7970 dilengkapi 2048 Stream Processor, 32 ROP Units, dan 128 Texture Units. AMD HD 7970 menggunakan arsitektur baru bernama GCN (Graphics Core Next). AMD HD 7970 dilengkapi tipe memori GDDR5 (sebelumnya dikabarkan akan menggunakan memori tipe XDR2) sebesar 3GB dengan ukuran bandwidth memory sebesar 384-bit (1,5 kali lipat lebih besar dibandingkan generasi sebelumnya). Asupan daya AMD HD 7970 didapatkan melalui konektor daya 8-pin + 6-pin. Satu hal yang menarik adalah konsumsi daya AMD HD 7970 pada kondisi idle adalah kurang dari 3 Watt.
AMD HD 7970 menggunakan clock GPU sebesar 925 MHz dan clock memori sebesar 5500 MHz. Sepertinya clock GPU AMD HD 7970 dapat ditingkatkan hingga kecepatan 1 GHz atau lebih dengan tetap menggunakan HSF reference.
Beberapa feature AMD HD 7970 lainnya tampaknya tidak jauh berbeda dengan AMD seri HD 6900 seperti kehadiran feature DualBIOS dan dua buah konektor CrossfireX. HSF reference AMD 7970 menggunakan HSF tipe vapour chamber generasi ke enam yang dilengkapi kipas blower dengan desain terbaru. Konektor display reference AMD HD 7970 adalah satu buah konektor DVI, HDMI, dan dua buah konektor mini-Display Port.

AMD Sets World Overclocking Record with 8.429GHz Bulldozer Processor


Before every major architecture launch from AMD or NVIDIA, the companies typically hold an editor's or tech day. These events usually last about a day (sometimes two) and involve a bunch of press sitting in a conference room while they get peppered with presentations and pepper back with questions. Engineers and key architects are usually present. The goal behind these tech days is to help the press understand, at least from the manufacturer's perspective, what makes their new architecture tick. Benchmarking usually doesn't happen at these events, but typically we get hardware at the event or shortly thereafter. If you're curious, Intel doesn't typically do a tech day - that's what IDF is for.
Two weeks ago AMD held one of these tech days for its upcoming Bulldozer architecture, which will be sold under the FX brand (e.g. AMD FX-xxxx CPU). Although it'll still be a little while before I can talk about most of what transpired at the Bulldozer tech day, there is one thing I'm allowed to share today: overclocking potential.
AMD was conducting overclocking experiments at the tech day and had three different stations setup for us to look at. The first used a sub-$100 closed-loop waster cooling solution from Antec (Kühler series). I can't tell you much about the chip itself other than it is an 8-core FX processor that AMD was able to overclock to 4.8GHz using the Antec Kühler.
Next up was phase change cooling. Armed with a phase change cooler AMD pushed another 8-core FX CPU up to 5.894GHz at 1.632V.
AMD ended on its most aggressive cooling solution: liquid helium. Using liquid helium AMD was able to take Bulldozer to a new world record of 8.429GHz. The resulting overclocked frequency was high enough to get AMD's FX processor inducted into the Guiness Book of World Records for the highest frequency for a computer processor.
None of this tells us much about how Bulldozer will perform unfortunately. The most interesting number is likely the first number (4.8GHz) which gives you the upper bound of what to expect from an overclocked Bulldozer at home without any exotic cooling.
AMD recently announced it started shipping server versions of its Bulldozer CPU and that desktop parts will be available in Q4.

MSI Launches Companies First PCI Express Gen 3 Motherboard - Z68A-GD80 G3

MSI issued a press release this morning stating that the company has launched the world's first PCI Express Gen 3 motherboard with the Z68A-GD80 (G3).

 We hate to break it to them, but it's not the first as one week ago to the day ASRock announced the Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 motherboard with two PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots! It looks like PCIe 3.0 motherboards are starting to hit the market, but sadly there are no video cards to take advantage of this new standard. Nothing wrong with future proofing your platform though!

setelah Adnan Putra Ramadhan yang muncul dalam Lomba Liga Overclocking di megabazzar kemaren, kini giliran Satyawan yuwana, hebat nya Sataywan berhasil memperoleh juara satu dalam lomba kali ini, menyisihkan 8 finalis lainnya. Dengan Abit IX38 QuadGT dan Core 2 Duo E4500 Sataywan mulai belajar tentang Overclocking. Kini setalah mengerti step by step tentang overclocking, Sataywan memberanikan diri untuk mengikuti Lomba Overclocking Beginer Oc Competition UKDW, oleh Himpunan SI UKDW, Satyawan yuwana akhirnya berhasil menyabet gelar juara di lomba yang baru pertama kali di ikutinya, Congratulation!!!.
Kedepan nya Satyawan berharap bisa menjadi seorang overclocker Dunia sama dengan overclocker termuda lainnya adnan. Masih banyak waktu memang, mengingat Usianya yang masih umur 14  Tahun. So tetap berusaha dan berlatih, Maju terus Overclockers Indonesia. Next saya berharap   melihat dua overclocker muda indonesia , Satyawan Yuawan dan Adnan Ramadhan akan bertarung dengan Overclocker overclocker senior di indonesia, well seee...

MSI GTX580 Lightning Xtreme Edition


Kurang lebih dua bulan lalu, MSI merilis graphics card MSI GTX580 Lightning , sebuah GTX580 non-reference dengan komponen kelas atas yang dirancang untuk memberikan performa tinggi dan juga kemampuan overclock yang luar biasa. Namun, MSI tampaknya masih belum puas dan kembali memperkenalkan varian baru dari GTX580 Lightning, yang disebut MSI GTX580 Lightning Xtreme Edition.
Terdengar menarik? Kami juga berpikir demikian. Maka dari itu, kami akan memberi preview singkat dari VGA terbaru MSI ini.
Sepintas lalu, selain warna dari cover HSF dan fan yang disertakan, penampilan VGA ini tidak jauh berbeda dengan GTX580 Lightning sebelumnya. Bahkan, komponen di backside-nya pun mirip. Lalu, apa yang membuatnya berbeda? Salah satunya adalah 3GB GDDR5 Memory yang disematkan di VGA ini, untuk membuat performa VGA ini tetap kencang di konfigurasi resolusi tinggi dengan fitureye candy seperti Anti-Aliasing (AA) yang tetap diaktifkan, misalnya resolusi 2560×1440 ke atas, dengan masih mempertahankan 8xAA atau 16xAA.

GIGABYTE has listened closely to the overclocking community to make sure the X58A-OC has all of the overclocking features enthusiasts have been asking for, without some of the features that are unnecessary while overclocking, or can negatively impact performance – similar to a stripped down sports car where the aircon, radio, passenger seats, etc… have been removed to reduce weight. OC-VRM
The GIGABYTE X58A-OC features a new VRM design called OC-VRM, which includes a combination of highly conductive POScaps, 50A rated MPFC (Max Power Ferrite Core) Chokes, and Driver-MOSFETs, which combined, are able to deliver higher current to the CPU, with better efficiency and lower temperature. OC-VRM also allows users to overclock the PWM frequency via an onboard switch, for real-time adjustment. When the CPU needs maximum power, users can raise the PWM frequency in order to deliver more current through this unique POScap and MPFC Choke design. In addition, GIGABYTE has specially chosen unobtrusive components and carefully designed their layout to make it easier and quicker than ever for extreme overclockers to insulate their boards.
OC-Touch
OC-Touch enables overclockers to quickly and easily get the best performance from their system. With onboard OC-Touch buttons, users are able to manually raise and lower the CPU ratio, change BCLK settings, and even change BCLK stepping to either 1MHz or 0.3MHz. These changes can be made at any time whether in the BIOS, DOS, or Windows and in real-time without the need for rebooting, so that users can quickly fine-tune to find their CPU’s maximum frequency. The onboard 4G Ready button allows novice overclockers to automatically reach 4GHz, while advanced users can use it to get to 4GHz before continuing with OC-Touch to quickly find their CPU’s best margin. Onboard voltage measurement modules are also included to help users to conveniently monitor component voltages.
OC-PEG
OC-PEG provides two onboard SATA power connectors for more stable PCIe power when using 3-way and 4-way graphics configurations. Each connector can get power from a different phase of the power supply, helping to provide a better, more stable graphics overclock. The independent power inputs for the PCIe slots helps to improve even single graphics card overclocking. For 4-way CrossFireX™, users must install OC-PEG to avoid over current in the 24pin ATX connector. The entire board also features POScaps, helping to simplify the insulation process so overclockers can quickly reach subzero readiness.
OC-Cool
OC-Cool features a new LED lit thermal design and 7x 4-pin Smart Fan connectors to allow overclockers to easily control system-wide temperature. The OC-Cool heatpipe maximizes system convection to expel hot air out through the IO panel and optimizes passive cooling. OC-Cool LED lighting on the North and South Bridges further adds to the X58A-OC’s coolness.
OC-DualBIOS™
OC-DualBIOS™ features an onboard BIOS switcher and LED indicator, allowing users to select one BIOS for normal use, and another one for overclocking. It can also act as a backup BIOS in case of BIOS failure during overclocking. With two BIOSes, users are able to save up to 16 different overclocking profiles – a very useful feature when overclockers want to update to a new BIOS, but don’t want to lose their original settings.
By being able to switch between 2 different BIOSes, OC-DualBIOS also allows users to test drive a new BIOS without having to update both BIOSes with the same update, helping to save time and unnecessary BIOS reflashes.
